#3DChanter – 3D-printable practice chanter
The #3DChanter is a handy, lightweight practice chanter that can be dismantled to fit in your pocket, so you can take it with you wherever you go.
Its sound is quieter and mellower than a standard or long practice chanter, making it ideal for solo practice and for situations where noise is a consideration.
What you get
The #3DChanter is supplied digitally as a set of STL files for use with 3D printers and similar digital manufacturing devices. To make full use of the files you’ll need access to a suitable printer.
Lindstruments STL file kits are optimised for FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) printers of the kind widely available for home use. All parts are 100 mm or shorter, so they can be printed even on modestly sized machines such as the Printrbot.
The set comes with full instructions. To assemble and play your chanter you’ll need:
-
A standard plastic practice chanter reed
-
PTFE (plumber’s) tape or hemp thread to seal the joints
Files can be downloaded immediately after payment.
