The Low Whistle Book
The go to low whistle tutor book "The Low Whistle Book" is offered here at a special of £15, aimed at encouraging Low Qwistlers to lay the foundations of good technique, in order to get the most out of the instrument.
Even if you have experience of the penny whistle or the pipes, there are many points of technique that you may find you need help with such as the "Pipers Grip", and authors Steáfán Hannigan and David Ledsam have written the book in an easy to read and accessible style that makes the learning process good fun.
The Low Whistle Book will provide you with the guidance needed to make the best start on the low whistle, and is accompanied by an excellent CD recorded by Steáfán Hannigan and featuring "many unusual pieces which have been researched and collected from many different sources, including the haunting ‘The Lonesome Boatman’ by Finbar Furey. These tunes highlight the characteristic sound of the Low Whistle and range in difficulty from easy to show-off!" (soarvalleymusic.co.uk)
“The authors have a great deal of experience teaching and playing whistles, and it shows.”
